Flying Geese handbag
©1994
This is just one of my handbags. This is the kind "quilt" I made for 7+
years. I hope to have this as a pattern soon! |

Dogtooth Violet, variation
This is a flower pattern from the book, "Fabled Flowers" by Kumiko Sudo.
The sky fabric and the 3-D silk flowers are made from hand-dyed cotton
and silks done for me by Robin Haider of Silk Impressions. I paid her to
do the sky fabric and she GAVE me a big bag full of her gorgeous hand-dyed
silk scraps. |

"Coventry"
The question here is........ will I ever finish this quilt? I started
this back before Bali fabrics came onto the market -- I had a difficult
time finding fabrics that looked like stained glass. This quilt is
inspired by the baptistry window in Coventry Cathedral, Coventry, England,
which my family visited in 1993. I wrote to the cathedral folks and
they said "go for it" and sent me a poster too! The design represents
God's light coming into the world. The 4" x 5" blocks are just stuck
up on my design wall and in this photo the quilt is halfway finished --
only 10 more rows to go! |
